Not long ago I have published the review for a quad-channel ADATA DDR4 kit. Today I am going to review the ADATA XPG Z1 8GB DDR4-2400C16 dual-channel kit. They are both part of the overclocking family of the manufacturer, so they are on my territory.
The previous kit showed some nice performance and overclocking capabilities so I expect the same from this one.
Specs:

Aspect and build
XPG Z1 series is defined by the aspect of the heatsink so that is the first clue about the affiliation: the pointy center of the radiator. They are no tall so I think no problems with air cooler will occur.
A label shows the XMP settings. The heatsink is red and the PCB has memory chips on one side.

Overclocking
ADATA XMP settings are 2400 16-16-16-39-2 @ 1.2V.
The lowest timings for 2400MHz and 1.2V are 13-13-28-1 which offer a good bump in performance and can be safely used 24/7.
Going up with clock and voltage revealed the overclocking capabilities of ADATA kit: 3466MHz 12-18-18-28-1 @ 1.65V. That is pretty cool for a 2400 kit.

Value
Amazon lists the ADATA XPG Z1 DDR4-2400 C16 kit for $39 / 53 which is great for the performance that can be squeezed from it.
Conclusion
I got the chance to test 2 memory kits based on Samsung E-die chips. First was Patriot Viper and today I wrote about ADATA XPG Z1 8GB 2400C16. Both are great, each of them in its own way.
While Patriot XMP settings are 3400C16 which offers speeds above 3866MHz, the ADATA is marked 2400C16 so 3466C12 is a great achievement at only 1.65V.
I like the aspect of XPG Z1 series and the fact that ADATA built them carefully. The overclocking is excellent but the price is awesome. We can buy this kit for only $39 / 56 so it has a very good price/performance ratio.
